Visit: Royal Hospital, Chelsea

| Royal Hospital, Chelsea

Discover the public and private sides of this historic building, created in the 17th century as a home for retired soldiers. On a tour led by one of the Chelsea Pensioners, visitors will be taken around the State Apartments, which are normally closed to the public, to learn about the work of Adam, Soane, Vanbrugh and Wren, see paintings by Van Dyck and Lely, and visit the Great Hall, Chapel and Museum. The tour of the building is followed by tea in the State Apartments, during which Peregrine Bryant talks about the refurbishment project for the Long Wards.
