Day visit to Edinburgh
A guided visit to Dovecot Studios of the Edinburgh Tapestry Company presents an opportunity to see weaving in process at the recently refurbished new studio. Dovecot continues to work to commission, producing tapestries for private and public collections worldwide; Elizabeth Blackadder's irises for a domestic interior and Frank Stella's design for a series of 12 tapestries for Pepsi Company in NewYork are two such examples.
Following lunch in the Dean Gallery, there is the opportunity to see a selection of ARTIST ROOMS at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. Works by Gallagher, Hirst, Katz and Warhol make up part of Anthony d'Offay's vast collection of post-war and contemporary art recently acquired for Tate and National Galleries of Scotland with assistance from The Art Fund.
