Lecture: Collegiate Churches, Elmley Castle

| St Mary's Parish Church

Paul Jeffery is the author of 'The Collegiate Churches of England and Wales', a fascinating survey of about 150 churches which were at the heart of medieval colleges of priests. Some are still celebrated for their fine achitecture and furnishings, the grandest being St George's, Windsor, but many were dissolved in the sixteenth century. St Mary's, a beautiful medieval church, had a college of priests attached to it from 1308 to 1545 and is the only collegiate church to be found in Worcestershire.

Joint event with the Worcester and Dudley Historic Churches Trust and St Mary's Church, Elmley Castle.
