Visit to Brecon
| Brecknock Museum
A visit to the Brecknock Museum with a talk by William Gibbs, Powys Art Fund Representative, on two ArtFunded paintings, starts the day and will include the recently purchased Augustus John of the Brecon Beacons. There will be time to look round the Museum where there is a social exhibition of modern ceramics arranged in conjunction with the National Museum, Cardiff.
A two-course lunch and coffee at Tipple 'n' Tiffin, the theatre restaurant, precedes a visit to the Royal Welsh Regimental Museum. One of three such museums, it was formerly the South Wales Borderers (24th Regiment) Museum, with an Anglo-Zulu War display, some 3,000 medals (including VCs won at Rorke's Drift) and an extensive weapon collection. After a talk on the South Wales Borderers, with particular emphasis on the Anglo-Zulu war, there will be time to wander round the Museum.
