Visit to Ilford Manor and Gardens

| Ilford Manor

Iford Manor is not normally open to the public. It once belonged to Harold Ainsworth Peto and the gardens, the most delightful Italian-style gardens in England, were his creation. He was a trained architect with a style rooted in Renaissance Italy, an exact contemporary of Gertrude Jekyll who was a great admirer of his work. The 18th Century house, now the home of Elizabeth Cartwright-Hignett, houses her collection of paintings and works of art and she will herself show us round. Visitors will also be able to view the walled garden which is not normally open to the public.
