Lecture: 'Painters of Myths and Dreams: England's Late Pre-Raphaelites' at The Manor House, Buriton, Hampshire

| The Manor House

By kind invitation of Mrs Holland-Bosworth, a luncheon, and a lecture by Nicholas Bagshawe entitled, ‘Painters of Myths and Dreams: England’s Late Pre-Raphaelites’.

This lecture looks at the group of British painters, who, towards the end of the 19th century, chose to paint subject matter from classical myths, Arthurian legend, and medieval folk-lore. These pictures – colourful, exciting and romantic – are now highly prized by collectors and are attracting the attention of art historians again.

This lecture is a follow-up to one Nicholas gave on the early Pre-Raphaelites in September 2007. It is not essential to have heard the first!
