Visit to Radwinter and Hempstead Churches

| Radwinter and Hempstead Churches

Meet at 10.45am to visit the church at Radwinter, a treasure house of late Victorian design which also boasts an early 16th century Flemish reredos with exquisitely detailed carving depicting scenes from the life of the Virgin. Move on to visit the 14th century church of St Andrews, Hempstead. This retains many original features, despite extensive Victorian renovation, together with a remarkable collection of funerary monuments, including a bust of William Harvey, physician to Charles I. Both visits will be guided by the churchwardens.
