North east of Bury St Edmunds, this 4-acre garden surrounding an Elizabethan manor reflects 500 years of English garden history, ranging from Tudor knot and herb gardens to a Quincunx of 5 interlocking borders conceived by Gertrude Jekyll and a Millennium Giant Stride. Following an introductory talk at 11am explore the gardens, visit the vineyard, country store and plant shop. Lunch may be taken from 12.30pm at the renowned Leaping Hare restaurant (Michelin guide) which serves a seasonal menu of locally sourced food.
