Lecture; The Bridgeman Art Library

| Kildale Hall

Viscountess Bridgeman will talk about The Bridgeman Art Library which she founded more that 25 years ago. It is an outstanding archive of photographic transparencies drawn from collections around the world. It is one of the great records of art history and is open to everyone. Harriet Bridgeman comes from the North East, spending many of her early years at Low Middleton and we are extremely pleased that she has agreed to give this lecture.

Kildale Hall belonged to her father and is now owned by his grandson and her nephew, Andrew Sutcliffe. Andrew and his wife Emma have spent many years restoring the hall which is set in a magnificent position, on the edge of the hills below Captain Cook’s Monument.
