Private Visit and Talk: Sandham Memorial Chapel, plus The Gardens of Sandleford Place

| Sandham Memorial Chapel

Sandham Memorial Chapel is described as Stanley Spencer’s finest achievement; a remarkable series of murals which depict his experiences during the First World War. Following a talk at the chapel there will be free time for a pub lunch or picnic. After lunch enjoy the rare opportunity to visit the beautiful 4 acre grounds at nearby Sandleford Place at Burghclere. Following a brief introduction by the owner you are free to explore these remarkable gardens, ‘more exuberant than manicured’, which include wonderful wild flower meadows in addition to more formal planting.
