Day Trip to Farmleigh and Castletown

| Castletown House

Castletown is Ireland's first great Palladian mansion built for Thomas Conolly. It has recently come under state care, and has been magnificently restored. There are fine Irish pictures, decorative objects and furniture to be seen in the main rooms.

Farmleigh, a Victorian mansion is a former Irish home of the Earl's of Iveagh, now the government guest house. Recently refurbished it houses some of the Guinness collections, including tapestry and furniture.
