Private Visit: Tirley Garth Gardens, Cheshire
| Tirley Gardens
Tirley Garth is an important country house with the only complete Grade 11 Listed Arts and Crafts garden in Cheshire. The house, designed by C E Mallows, was built in 1911 by a director of ICI. For many years it was the home of the Moral Re-Armament Movement before being restored in recent years.
The gardens extend to 16 hectares and have formal areas with terraces and rose gardens and large informal areas with rhododendrons and lawns overlooking the Beeston and Peckforton hills. The private tour begins at 11.30 am, before the gardens open to the public. This will include a talk on the history of the garden which was designed by Thomas Mawson. Afterwards you will be free to visit the tearooms, art exhibition, and plant sale.
A map and directions will be sent with tickets. PLEASE ENSURE YOU BRING YOUR TICKET WITH YOU AS YOU WILL NEED IT FOR ACCESS.
