Sir Thomas Lawrence and the Celebrity Portrait

Dr. Christopher Lloyd, formerly Surveyor of the Queen’s Pictures, an Art Fund Trustee and President of NADFAS will give an illustrated lecture in the Tempest Anderson Hall on portraits of the famous, including Sir Thomas Lawrence’s dramatic painting of the actress, Elizabeth Farren, later Countess of Derby.

The lecture will be followed by a two-course lunch, with a glass of wine, in the pleasant surroundings of the nearby fifteenth-century Hospitium also in the Museum Gardens.There will also be the opportunity to explore this recently refurbished building.

There is ample parking available close to Museum Gardens in the Marygate car park.
