Renaissance Faces: Van Eyck to Titian

| Merchant Adventurers' Hall

An event to link with the National Gallery's important exhibition on Renaissance portrait painting (October 15 2008 - January 18 2009). One of the curators of this exhibition, Jennifer Fletcher, a former senior lecturer at the Courtauld Institute, will give an illustrated lecture on The Patrons, the Display and the Subjects of Renaissance Portraiture. The fourteenth century Merchant Adventurers' Hall is a magnificent building to visit in its own right. There is plenty of space in the Hall so do invite your friends to what promises to be a pleasant pre-Christmas occasion. Last year's lecture there, on Corot preceded by a wine and delicious canape reception, proved to be a convivial and enjoyable event.
