Government Art Collection

| Government Art Collection

The Government Art Collection has, since 1898, purchased and commissioned works of art by British artists in a variety of media for display in Government buildings and for loan to public galleries around the world. Those works which are not out on loan are held in store. The tour of this very interesting collection, which includes works by Lucian Freud, Anish Kapoor, Demien Hirst and Tony Cragg, will be led by a GAC curator, who will given an introduction to the history of hte collection and show us a selection of the works.
