Richard Cosway was the leading miniaturist of the 1790s while his wife Maria was a painter, musician, composer, founder of schools and social climber of distinction. She was on close terms with the Prince Regent, Napoleon and Thomas Jefferson. Dr Edwards gave our successful lecture on Tudor Miniatures two years ago.The latest exhibits at the Museum, bought with the help of the Art Fund, will be on display after the lecture.
