Tewkesbury Abbey and Gloucester Cathedral

| Tewkesbury and Gloucester

Built to house Benedictine monks, the Norman Tewkesbury Abbey was consecrated in 1121. The Abbey quietly dominates the land and the skyline with its magnificent long nave. There will be an introductory talk by the vicar, Canon Paul Williams, before exploring the Abbey under our own steam. Lunch will be in the Abbey, followed by Gloucester, a fascinating and majestic building. The Dean, the Very Reverant Nicholas Bury will give us an introduction before we explore the Cathedral.
