Sibdon Castle and Stokesay Court
| Sibdon Castle
Sibdon Castle, the focus of the manorial group Sibdon Caraway, is a 17th
century house built for the Corbet family, and extended and castellated by
subsequent owners. Portraits and furniture with the close association of the
Herbert family of Powis Castle.
After pre-lunch drinks in the house, a picnic may be enjoyed in the garden and a visit made to the church in the grounds.
Thomas Harris's elaborate Victorian country house, which has few rivals in Shropshire, was the setting of the film ATONEMENT. The tour of the sets, the principal rooms, will be followed by afternoon tea.
