Kettle's Yard and the Fitzwilliam Museum

| Kettle's Yard and the Fitzwilliam Museum

The day will begin at Kettle's Yard, a unique house founded by Jim and Helen Ede containing works of art from furniture to pictures to glass to ceramics. Jim Ede's fascination with all forms of art grew from meeting Ben and Winifred Nicholson while he was an Assistant at the Tate Gallery. The tour will be preceded by an introductory talk about the house and Jim Ede's vision. There will also be a short detail about the adjoining gallery featuring the first major exhibtion by Michelle Charles.

Jim Ede was very influenced by the art show in the Fitzwilliam Museum and this started the collecting bug. A short talk will be given at approx 15.00pm before visiting the museum for those who would be interested. We recommend parking at the Madingley Park and Ride- £2 return bus fare. The bus stop is very near Kettle's Yard and takes about ten minutes.
