A four day coach tour of both counties, focusing on the superb houses.On Monday 23rd we depart Norwich to view Vanbrugh's Baroque house where we shall take lunch and then drive through the Howardian Hills to Grants hotel in the centre of Harrogate where we shall stay for three nights. On Tuesday 24th we visit Stockfield Park, a fine Palladian Villa of the 1750's by James Paine and Harewood House, the house of the Lascelles family by John Carr, Robert Adam and Sir Charles Barry. On Wednesday 25th the tour will commence by visiting Norton Conyers, the original Thornfield Hall in Jane Eyre,followed by viewing Newby Hall, remodelled by Robert Adam, containing wonderful tapestries and a beautiful library. On the last day our tour takes us to Farnley Hall, a 17th century house with a wing added by John Carr in the late 17800's. After this we will have the pleasure of visiting Brodsworth Hall, near Doncaster, refurbished in the 1990's it is said to be the epitomy of restoration.
