Ruskin and Venice: The Stones and their Conservation

Sarah Quill has worked as a photographer in Venice for many years, creating a unique archive of the city's architecture and daily life. She is a trustee of the Venice in Peril Fund, and consultant for Lancaster University's research project on Ruskin's Venetian notebooks. Her book Ruskin's Venice: The Stones Revisited was published in 2000.

In her talk Sarah will show how Ruskin's work has influence attitudes towards the preservation of Venetian architecture, and will highlight the work of the Venice in Peril Fund today.
