Curator-led tours of Sacred Texts at the British Library

Join one of four exclusive, curator-led tours of the Sir John Ritblat Gallery in the Library's St Pancras building, focussing on the sacred texts on display.

The gallery contains over 200 items, including some of the world's most sumptuous and valuable sacred texts amongst which are the world's oldest complete Christian Bible (Codex Sinaiticus) and the Lindisfarne Gospels.

Alongside these items the Gallery offers access to Magna Carta, the Gutenberg Bible, handwritten music and song lyrics by Mozart and the Beatles, notebooks of Leonardo da Vinci, Shakespeare's First Folio and longhand drafts by Charlotte Bronte, Jane Austen and Wordsworth.

Tours will take place in groups of no more than 15. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the other treasures in the gallery following the tour.
