Visit: Sheldon Manor and Great Chalfield Manor, Wiltshire

| Sheldon Manor and Great Chalfield Manor

Sheldon claims to be Wiltshire’s oldest inhabited manor house. A picnic lunch with wine will be served in the gardens, which should be at
their best, with a profusion of old-fashioned roses in bloom. In the afternoon, visit Great Chalfield Manor, described by Simon Jenkins as a frontrunner in the ‘best medieval manor’ stakes. The Great Hall was restored in the early 1900s and the garden was designed by Alfred Parsons in the Arts and Crafts style.
