Visit to Braemore and Longford Castle

| Longford Castle

A repeat visit to Longford since there was such a demand for tickets last year. A veritable treasure house of fine pictures, furniture and much else, with interiors of the greatest quality. An imposing exterior, triangular in plan, of linked towers, and standing by its river and formal gardens. Also to the south of Salisbury is Braemore, a late Elizabethan house of mellow brick, butressed, gabled, a profusion of chimneys, all as it should be, and much to see of great interest and character. Owned by the family for generations, the present owner will show us round with coffee on arrival. Hopefully there will be time to visit the nearby church of St Mary - a Norman gem.
