From Canterbury to Jerusalem: Relics and Reliquaries

Michael Michael will discuss the phenomenon of pilgrimage and the role of relics from the earliest Christian times to the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the 16th century. The way relics became the justification for travel suggests journeys were undertaken to fulfil a spiritual need and often a desire for help in times of crisis. Dr Michael is an Academic Director at Christie's Education in London.
