A Surrealist Household

Farley Farm House, the Sussex home of Roland Penrose and Lee Miller, became a gathering place for some of the key figures of modern art. Leonora Carrington, Ernst, Hayter, Man Ray, Miro, Picasso and Dorothea Tanning came and went, leaving traces that go to make up the present-day fabric of Farleys. Antony Penrose, who was brought up there, and is curator of its collection and the Lee Miller archive, conjures up the unique spirit of the place.
