The Whitaker

Set in a beautiful park, Rossendale's museum and art gallery covers local and natural history and contemporary art

There are changing temporary exhibitions of work by local artists in the expanded gallery spaces, and Industrial Revolution classics, glass, ceramic gems, Victorian and Edwardian paintings and natural history on show in the other rooms.

Visitor information

The new café offers tea, coffee, lunchtime snacks and cakes.

  • loved this place , very small and a bit pokey but packed full of interesting stuff - some really good victorian portraits on the walls and a small museum upstairs which is well worth seeing. Cafe is expensive but really classy , would be a great place to take mum on mothers day . Nice views from the front of the house
