The Stewartry Museum

The collections at the Stewartry Museum relate to the human and natural history of the eastern half of Galloway.

The permanent exhibition includes the 'Siller Gun' - Britain's earliest surviving sporting trophy - and works by Kirkcudbright artists including Jessie M King. The museum holds a local history library and archive collections forming a valuable resource for family and local history research. There is also an extensive photographic archive for the Stewartry. New for 2016 is a display of archaeological finds.
