St Fagans National Museum of History

Cardiff, CF5 6XB

The open air museum stands in the grounds of the St Fagans Castle and gardens.

Over 40 original buildings from different historical periods have been re-erected, including farmhouses, a school and a grand mediaeval church. Traditional craftsmen including the clogmaker and blacksmith are on hand to demonstrate their traditional skills.

An ambitious £25.5 million redevelopment is underway for a Making History project, which will transform St Fagans into a national museum of history for Wales, allowing visitors to follow the story of the Welsh people from prehistory to today.
