A museum showcasing the achievements of the Derby Crown Porcelain Company, which has been producing tableware and ornamental items since the 19th century.

Factory at Royal Crown Derby

The Derby Crown Porcelain Company was founded in 1876, becoming 'Royal' in 1890 by warrant of Queen Victoria. The factory's visitor centre was created to provide an insight into the history of this internationally-renowned china.

As well as the museum displays, visitors can also take a tour of an escorted tour of the working factory, where craftspeople demonstrate the skills that have been passed down through the generations.

The collection is the most comprehensive collection of Derby Porcelain anywhere in the world, and included the Imari pattern that has been synonymous with Royal Crown Derby since the 18th century.
