Paxton House

A fantastic 18th-century Adam country house with superb Chippendale furniture and a stunning collection of world-class paintings from the National Galleries of Scotland.

Hanging in the magnificent picture gallery, the culmination of a suite of rooms added by George Home in 1814, are paintings by Raeburn, Reynolds, Wilkie, Nasmyth and Lawrence. There are 80 acres of grounds and gardens, net fishing, riverside and woodland walks and adventure playground. The Georgian kitchen can be explored and there are music, theatre and events throughout the year.
