Brunel Museum

This scheduled ancient monument and international landmark is in a pretty riverside location above the Thames Tunnel.

Paintings, models, prints and statues commemorate Isambard Kingdom Brunel's first and last projects: the oldest tunnel in the London Underground and SS Great Eastern, the first modern ocean liner. The huge Neoclassical Grand Entrance Hall, once an enormously popular visitor attraction, is currently being fitted out as an exhibition space and underground theatre and is open every lunchtime. When building works are completed in early 2016 it will be open throughout the day.
