Today, Ruskin's former home is a treasure house of art and memorabilia, reflecting the huge variety of his interests. It is filled with significant artefacts from his life, including paintings, furniture, objets d'art and personal memorabilia.

Visitor information

A 19th-century steam yacht gondola departs from Conniston pier, allowing visitors to sail over to Brantwood estate in the style of a wealthy Victorian. The boat was rebuilt by the National Trust in the 1980s and features luxury saloon style seating and open air decks, as well as commentary on the local area and its famous former residents.
