Women with Vision
16 December 2017 – 11 March 2018
Coinciding with the centenary of British women's suffrage, this programme of exhibitions celebrates the contribution of women to British art.
Until 11th March, the exhibition Frink-Blow-Lawson explores the figurative and abstract works of Dame Elisabeth Frink, Sandra Blow and Sonia Lawson, from Frink's haunting sculptures to Blow's pioneering abstractions and Lawson's richly textured services.
Women of the RWA looks at the women who helped to shape the history of the Royal West of England Academy, including Rolinda Sharples, Augusta Talboys and Vanessa Bell.
The bold, colourful paintings of RWA academician and Scottish artist Anne Redpath - heavily inspired by Matisse and Bonnard - are also the subject of a vibrant exhibition.
Alongside the Vote100 celebrations, Women with Vision also commemorates 160 years since the RWA opened its doors and the 250th birthday celebrations of the Royal Academy.
