Lynn Chadwick, Insider III, 1963

The Ingram Collection of Modern British Art was started by media entrepreneur and philanthropist Chris Ingram in 2002. While he initially focused on representing the major art movements of the 20th century, in recent years he has expanded the scope of the collection to include pieces by emerging contemporary artists and graduates too.

Today the Ingram Collection spans over 100 years of British Art and includes painting, drawing sculpture, installation and video. Ingram displays his collection at the gallery because he is passionate about sharing it with everyone.

This exhibition of more than 40 of its highlights features works by Eileen Agar, Lynn Chadwick, Ken Currie, Elisabeth Frink, Terry Frost, Patrick Heron, Eduardo Paolozzi and others. In the accompanying audio recordings the artists discuss the experiences that shaped their work.
