After a successful stint at the V&A Museum of Childhood, this charming exhibition is displayed at Norwich’s principal museum.

On its return to the UK from Washington DC, the touring exhibition showcases 12 of the V&A Museum of Childhood’s finest miniature dwellings. Each property is filled with exquisitely detailed furniture and figurines, many of which were painstakingly restored by the conservation team over the course of two years.

From a sprawling country manor and a grand Georgian townhouse to a modern-day council estate and skyscraper, a range of architectural styles are represented, while visitors are encouraged to venture behind closed doors and find out about the residents. Covering 300 years of history, tales of high-society hypocrisy, political drama and criminal activity await.

Taking things a step further, the kitchen and living room recreations offer visitors the chance to dress up and get involved in the daily activities of households in the 1840s and 1960s.

Don't miss

Especially for the Norwich installation, Dream House 2017 features a series of enchanting scenes created by local artists, schools and community groups.
