Twenty years after his first exhibition at the museum, artist and researcher Paul Coldwell returns with a new series of work.

For this exhibition Coldwell has been working with the Sigmund Freud Museum in Vienna. His focus is Freud's forced exile from the Austrian capital in 1938 and his subsequent arrival in London, where he would then spend the last year of his life.

Coldwell has taken x-rays of the coat that Freud purchased for his journey to London and reconstructed objects from the psychoanalyst's desk in Vienna using 3D scanning technology for the display.

These ghostly reimaginings of Freud's personal belongings are a poignant insight into what it is like to have to flee one’s home and become a migrant.
