The first UK solo exhibition of the Taiwanese ink painting artist, featuring work produced over the last 20 years.

Wu Lan-Chiann, Reflections of the Past, 1999

Wu Lan-Chiann may use a traditional medium, but her paintings are wholly contemporary in concept. From a young age she has devoted her work to exploring the themes and values that connect people across time and place, drawing on both Asian and Western influences.

This exhibition has been displayed in reverse chronological order to reveal her evolution as an artist. Her style combines distinctive brushwork with delicate colour.

Don't miss

In a series of recent works Wu captures the fleeting moments of life through the depiction of free floating petals and leaves. She sees that there is a comparison between the rhythm of nature and the human cycle of life.
