An ‘experiment in spontaneous artistic creation’, the 30-day project sees over 100 artists, musicians, dancers, graphic designer and filmmakers conjure up live work in the spaces around the Barbican.

During the improvised stint, Terry Riley will spend five days composing new scores in the Art Gallery, Pedro Reyes will host ‘spiritual speed-dating’, the Sculpture Court will be overtaken with yurts and 100 diners will be fed cactus omelettes prepared to Ed Ruscha’s special recipe.

Also taking part are Marcus Coates, Martin Creed and Olafur Eliasson, while Lawrence Weiner presents a new commission. The programme has been masterminded by American multi-media artist, Doug Aitken.
