15 January – 29 March 2015
The first in a series of revelatory displays at The Courtauld's new Gilbert and Ildiko Butler Drawings Gallery.
Unseen comprises drawings which have not been exhibited at The Courtauld in at least the last 20 years. Often by lesser-known artists, the intriguing selection spans from the enlightening Renaissance period to the counter-culture of the 20th century.
Highlights include Two Men in Conversation, a 15th century drawing from the school of Francesco Squarcione and Africa, a work created by 'godfather of Pop Art', Larry Rivers, in the 1960s.
