A fact-and-fiction blurring installation based on the artist's research into the three Holburne sisters.

Holly Davey, recreated versions of Mary Ann Barbara's books, 2014

Unearthing the hidden stories of Thomas William Holburne’s three forgotten sisters, Holly Davey has worked extensively with the Holburne Museum collection and archive to construct semi-fictitious accounts of these women’s lives.

Through research into the location and social history of the institution, particular attention is paid to the work of Mary Ann Barbara, founder of the museum, sole heir to her brother’s collection and last of the family line.
