War Stories: Voices from the First World War
12 July 2014 – 1 March 2015
Journeying from the home front to the front line, the exhibition brings to life the wartime experiences of 15 individuals.
Personal letters, diaries, art, photography, costume, film and memorabilia reveal the impact war across all sections of British society.
Included are the stories of a young girl born in 1914, an Indian soldier who was wounded on the Western Front and taken to hospital in the Royal Pavilion, a Brighton & Hove Albion footballer called up to fight and a gardener imprisoned for his pacifist beliefs.
