Sites of Inspiration: Llanthony Priory

Running concurrently with an exhibition at Chepstow Museum, an exploration of how Monmouthshire’s monastic monuments have been portrayed in art and literature.

Featuring art and artefacts from the National collections in London and Wales, the duo of exhibitions reveal how Tintern Abbey and Llanthony Priory have acted as sites of inspiration to writers and artists inluding JMW Turner, Willim Wordsworth, Thomas Gainsborough, John Piper and Eric Ravilious, among others.
