Going Dutch: Hull and the Low Countries
28 September 2013 – 5 January 2014
Free to all
This exhibition looks at the shared culture between Hull and the coastal region of north western Europe throughout the ages.
Dutch influence can be seen throughout the city and surrounding landscape, unsurprising given that trading links go back as far as the 13th century and in the 1920s over half the imported fruit and vegetables from the Netherlands came in via Hull.
From art and architecture to the greenhouses in Cottingham, this exhibition explores Hull's ties with communities across the North Sea.
