The Glamour of Bellville Sassoon

An exhibition celebrating the fairytale fashion of Bellville Sassoon, the designers famed for dressing the Princess of Wales.

There is nothing subtle about the designs of Bellville Sassoon, the high-society fashion label that is having a late renaissance thanks to some early eighties retro-styling.

Belinda Bellville and David Sassoon had been the go-to fashion house for posh girls since the 1960s but really hit their stride in the 1980s thanks to a young Princess Diana. Their frilly, off-the-shoulder numbers became a hit and have been popular at weddings and bar mitzvahs ever since.

This exhibition celebrates their idiosyncratic style in all its sumptuous glory.
