The Seven Eggs: works by Clare Woods
6 July – 3 November 2013
An exhibition exploring the relationship between people and the landscape.
The show includes four new works by the contemporary artist, inspired by the history of Harewood.
Its title comes from an 18th century folly of the same name that was set in the grounds of the house. The area in question is now surrounded by trees as if 'reclaimed by the landscape'.
Turning the industrial process of lithography on its head to produce large-scale one-off pieces, Woods' also presents a series of works inspired by the alabaster tombs in Harewood's All Saints’ Church.
