A married couple who formed an extraordinary artistic partnership, William and Evelyn De Morgan were pioneers of the Arts & Crafts movement

Evelyn de Morgan, Aurora Triumphans, 1877-8
The show features major work from both figures, many on loan from the De Morgan foundation.

Evelyn De Morgan specialised in painting literary subjects, in a style heavily influenced by the Pre-Raphaelites. Her work, from her early classical pieces to the late allegories, are remarkable for her bold use of colour.

William De Morgan was one of the greatest ceramicists of his age and his rediscovery of lustre was a significant technical contribution to the decorative arts of the nineteenth century.
