Ancient Egyptian mummies and the treasures found in their tombs are travelling from Leiden's National Museum of Antiquities to the new exhibition spaces in the National Museum of Scotland.
As well as exploring the complex rituals surrounding death and the afterlife, the show reveals how archaeologists and scientists probe the secrets of mummies using ingenious techniques such as X-rays, scanning and facial reconstruction to bring us face to face with the past.
