Art of Arrangement: Photography and the Still Life Tradition
11 February – 7 May 2012
Art of Arrangement surveys the many ways in which photographers have explored still life, from the early 19th century to the present day.
The rich legacy inherited from centuries of painting has acted as a springboard for a complex history of expression, adaption and subversion. As well as fine art, the show includes outstanding examples of documentary and scientific photography.Drawn from the National Media Museum Photography Collection, the exhibition features photographs by names including Ansel Adams, Harold Edgerton, Roger Fenton, Edward Steichen, Madame Yevonde, Chris Killip and Don McCullin.
