This exhibition focuses on work by women war artists from the home front of the First World War to war in modern-day Kosovo.

The exhibition explores how artists respond to war, in a variety of different roles. This exhibition examines women as eyewitnesses, particpiants and officially comissioned artists.Women war Artists also sets out to explore the unique constraints and opportunities experienced by female artists in conflicts. As a result, visitors have a rare opportunity to re-visit crucial moments from the last century, seeing them from a different perspective.Featuring work by a range of artsists, from Anna Airy, one of the first official female war artists, and taking in well known images by lauara Knight, this exhibition offers a rarely seen perspective on some of the defining events of the twentieth century.
